What type of information do we collect?

We receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website. In addition, we use Google Analytics to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page. We also collect personally identifiable information (including name, email, and telephone number) and payment details (including credit card information) for our events.

How do we collect this information?

When you sign-up to our mailing list via www.friendsofhalstow.co.uk, as part of the process, we collect personal information such as your name, telephone number and email address. Your personal information will be transferred and saved to the Friends of Halstow subscriber list. This subscriber list is maintained on the Friends of Halstow MailChimp account.

When you register your interest in one of our fundraising events or purchase a ticket for one of our fundraising events, as part of the process, we collect personal information such as your name, telephone number and email address.  

Why do we collect this information?

We collect this personal information for the following reasons:
 

  • To send you regular Friends of Halstow email updates and promotional emails for our fundraising events

  • To provide ticket holders for Friends of Halstow events with event updates and confirmation emails

  • To create guests lists to be shared with event organisers. These guest lists will only contain your full name.

How do we store, use, share and disclose your personal information?

The Friends of Halstow website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to promote our fundraising events to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. 


All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by Friends of Halstow adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information.

We use a third party application called Stripe to manage electronic payments for all Friends of Halstow fundraising events. Stripe securely collects customers payment data in accordance with the strict standards outlined above. We are not able to access any individual payment data on the Stripe platform.  

Consent to using your personal information

By signing up to our mailing list and/or registering to attend one of our events, you have given us permission to contact you about any Friends of Halstow related activity. If you do not want us to process your data anymore, please contact us at friendsofhalstow@gmail.com.

Privacy policy updates

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.
